In Topeka, over 125 boys are waiting to be paired with a Big Brother!  A recruitment drive to sign up 100 male mentors in 100 days began September 1st.  Please join us for some of the fun events listed below.  We invite you to these informal get-togethers to see how the program works.

An independent study found children matched with a Big:

§ 64% developed a more positive attitude toward school

§ 58% achieved higher grades

§ 60% improved relationships with adults

§ 56% improved relationships with peers

 

BBBS of Topeka offers two main programs:

Community-Based Match

§ One visit 3-4 hours per week

§ A single person, or a couple/family can be matched with a Little

Bigs in School

§ 30 mintues to 1 hour per week

§ The volunteer meets the Little at school

 

A Match Specialist pairs Bigs and Littles based on their individual interests.

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters national organization is over 100 years old.

 

Just like the children mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters the mentors are unique, ranging in age from 18 to 70 with interests in all fields.
